demonstrate an understanding of the fundamental counting principle and apply it to calculate probabilities of dependent and independent events
Say you are going to a store and you decided to get a combo meal and there is many things to chose from
main-burger, sandwich, wrap
side-fries,salad,soup,potato,nothing
dessert, ice cream,Sunday,yogert,pie
3 different choices for the main course 5 for the side and 4 for the dessert
3 x 5 x 4 = 60 A total of 60 different chouses
Now a simple way to prove this is by using a tree diagram.
A tree diagram is a good way to simply plot all the possibility to a problem and it gives you a visual aid and lets you really see the problem.
